NHS Devon board
The board ensures that NHS Devon operates effectively, efficiently including good governance and value for money.
It is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the NHS Devon functions effectively and efficiently
- Setting NHS Devon’s vision and strategy
- Approving NHS Devon’s commissioning plans and financial policies
- Monitoring local providers’ performance and quality
- Approving annual reports
- Ensuring that NHS Devon debate issues in an open and transparent way.
The board is accountable to NHS England who oversees the performance of NHS Devon.
Members
Board members ensure NHS Devon commissions the highest quality services, with a view to securing the best possible outcomes for the patients within the financial allocation, whilst maintaining a consistent focus on quality.
Meetings
Meetings of the board are held at regular intervals in public.
Details, including the time, location, agenda and papers are published on the website at least five working days before the meeting.
Meetings are streamed live and recorded, these can be viewed on our YouTube page.
Minutes are taken at each meeting.
Attending a meeting
NHS Devon broadcasts its board meetings live via YouTube, which allows us to conduct our business in a transparent way.
Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings.

Posting questions and comments at the meeting
Questions will be taken in advance from the public, if relevant to the published agenda.
These must be submitted no later than two working days (48 hours) in advance of the meeting to d-icb.governance@nhs.net.
